Israeli army chief echoes biblical promise as he highlights the triumph of the Jewish people over every historical attempt to annihilate them

Though he failed to reference the Bible or acknowledge God directly, Israeli army chief Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz did seem to give a nod to the biblical promises concerning Israel while marking Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Auschwitz death camp on Monday.

Speaking to a large number of Israeli, Jewish and non-Jewish dignitaries, Gantz echoed Isaiah 54:17 in declaring that “there is no weapon or evil intention that can stand” against Israel.

Gantz said the presence of Israeli Jewish soldiers in Auschwitz, along with their supporters, was “living proof of the victory of light, the victory of morality, [and] the triumph of Israel.”

Even the most calculated and well-oiled attempts to destroy the nation of Israel have failed, and those who devised them have fallen from power, just as the prophet warned.

But knowing that such attempts will not cease, Gantz said Israel “knows better than to make light of existential threats,” a likely reference to the defiant Iranian nuclear program.

We have already reported several times on Benjamin Netanyahu’s revival of the Prime Minister’s Bible Study group in Israel. Now the Knesset is getting in on the trend with the establishment of its own weekly sessions of scriptural enlightenment.

The initiative came from one of the new Knesset parties, the centrist Yesh Atid, which fields both secular and religious lawmakers.

Despite running an election campaign that emphasized an end to army exemptions for and exaggerated welfare payouts to the ultra-Orthodox Jewish sector, and subsequently being labeled anti-religious by ultra-Orthodox leaders, Yesh Atid has since the election been the most outspoken party about getting more Israelis to study the Bible.

Tuesday’s Knesset Bible study was led by Yesh Atid lawmakers Rabbi Shai Piron, Rabbi Dov Lipman and Torah scholar Dr. Ruth Calderon. More than 30 Knesset members attended the inaugural session.

“Seeing MKs and staff members from ultra-Orthodox through secular studying Torah together showed the beauty of the environment we are creating in this new Knesset,” Lipman told the Times of Israel.

There is a growing sense in Israel that the Bible needs to form the basis of the state’s culture and policies, but that the ultra-Orthodox must not have a monopoly on the biblical interpretation of what it means to be Jewish.

Israel faces existential economic threat, too!

Outgoing Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer this week stated that Israel has one of the strongest and most resilient economies in the world. However, Israel is facing a very serious existential threat… well, many existential threats, really, but one of those threats is the economy itself. Israel is a fully welfare state, and there are two large sectors – the ultra-Orthodox Jews and the Arabs – which largely do not contribute to the mainstream workforce or pay taxes. The other 70 percent of the population is left to carry the financial burden of the state…. and (includes the military service)….

Praise & Prayer Points

Praise God for the economy has been strong so far! However a serious problem has arisen now the burden bearers mid class mostly secular Jews are tired because they have to keep two jobs to make end meet and both parents need to work ; this leaves the children in institutionalised daycares full time from as 6 months old onward. Most important also is, that they can no longer afford to buy a home.

Let us pray for balance and equality and all to share the burden to work pay taxes (Neh.4;17 ) and go into military service (Neh.4;14) Let us pray for conviction on those who refuse to submit to work , pay taxes, serve in the military,.. may they gain a sense responsibility and be blessed as they submit !

Muslim woman: Jews don’t rape us, unlike Arabs

An Arab Muslim mother from northern Israel who is aspiring to a life in politics called out fellow Arab women on Tuesday for failing to differentiate between the Jews and Arabs with whom they are in conflict. Commenting on a Facebook event page protesting the sexual harassment and torture of female activists in Egypt, Anet Haskia said Palestinian women should take a close look and realize how humane their Jewish “enemies” really are. “We are talking about the rape of Arab women in Egypt and other Arab states, and you still try to make a connection to Israel? Jewish men do not rape Arab women and girls! It is Arab Muslim men who are raping you, so focus this campaign on them and leave Israel alone.”

Praise God for this courageous woman who can see clearly . Yes very very seldom for jewish men to rape women! She is wise to direct the muslim women attention the right way !

Let us pray for her salvation ! Let us pray for the women in the muslim countries in the world to be courageous to speak out and be spared from this horrible violence. Synagogue also hit during prayer; one attendant left his seat to check about the noise; while the stained glass window blows away inward by the meteor explosion. The person who left came back to his seat and found a good size piece of glass on it . Wow that was a close one ! Ps 97 1-9 describes the entire scene perfectly !

3 Neglected Children in Petach Tikva

Police found one-and-a-half year old twins and their four-year-old brother, naked and in a serious state of neglect, Sunday evening, when they responded to neighbours’ calls of crying coming from their apartment. Police took the children to Schneider Children’s Hospital and detained their mother, about 30, for questioning.

Prayer Point
This is an extreme case ok; however we are concerned for the children in Israel who are left unattended at home at a tender age (we know this to be a fact we can see this all around us) because the parents have to work full time , and can not afford to pay for after hours school care! More 900.000 children live under the poverty line. The more blessed children are those who have grandparents who are actively involved in their care and lives.

Let us pray for the children ” better the family unit of Israel “…. that the government will make a way for at least 1 parent can stay at home to care for the children and take the excessive tax burned burden off of them and spread it out! Father bless the children of Israel we ask for your protection and help for them ..raise up a standard for their well being hear our cry mobilise more workers to help and to speak for these who can not speak for themselves!

Uprooting of Vineyard Part of Unending Harassment

Chairman Avi Ro’eh of the Binyamin Regional Council called, Monday, on security services to protect Jewish residents and agriculture in the region. Reacting to the uprooting of 3,000 vines in the vineyards in the Shilo-bloc community of Meshek Achya, Ro’eh said, “Unfortunately the uprooting of the vineyard is part of ongoing harassment by Arabs in the region which is directed at residents and agriculture. “We expect the army to protect the people and agriculture, and to lead to the order and security in the region. It is unthinkable that such an action may pass without any response from the police and security forces,” he stressed !

Let us pray for the Benyamin region, Samaria and Judea, this kind behaviour of uprooting vineyeards and olive groves and during the summer months setting fire to fields has been going on for a long time, and it is in the increase! On top of this also rocks throwing attacks aimed at cars have become almost a daily happening. Please Father send forth the enforcers of the law and order to put a stop of this unnecessary destruction going on … we bind the destroyer from operating in the name of Yeshua !

Intimacy with Yeshua is death to “SELF”

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Shabbat shalom dearly beloved:
I did not plan to write on this topic but the Holy Spirit commanded me to do so. When I say “commanded”, I mean He “nudged me” but for me every prompting of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) is a command. Most people relate to the Spirit’s promptings and light whispers so lightly that they can never develop true intimacy with Yeshua. Then they wonder what He is saying to them and why is it that they do not know what their purpose is in the Kingdom! Every time the Holy Spirit prompts me, impresses upon my heart or whispers into my being something to say or do for Him, it encroaches upon my plans, my timings and my ideas or opinions! In other words listening to the Holy Spirit demands self-denial and surrender.

Intimacy with Yeshua is only developed by carefully listening and obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit and they are very surprising and challenging.

When I say “surprising and challenging” I do not mean that they always cause one to suffer (though often it does as death to “self” can come through suffering. Yeshua learnt obedience by the things that He suffered!) Sometimes the Spirit prompts us to do enjoyable things for ourselves like shopping or going to the spa and sometimes it leads us to do wonderful things for others, nevertheless it is always something we did not think about!

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27

I remember when I was freshly married and ordained to the Ministry, the Ruach (Spirit) gave me a dream and in that dream I had another haircut (my hair was long and quite old fashioned at that time) and a much more modern frame in my eye glasses. I was very surprised when I woke up to the clear realization that my Abba was “styling me” Himself! I promptly went to the hair dresser that cut my hair in the exact shape I saw in that dream, the exact same style that I have until this day! I know that “hair” doesn’t seem to be such an important thing but when you lose it or when it does not look nice you realize that YHVH gave us hair for a purpose! And what a blessing this has been! The Holy Spirit style of hairdo that He gave me is so easy to keep looking good that in spite of my many ministry trips I did not have the need to visit the hair salon too frequently! He really thinks about everything!

Intimacy with Yeshua means that He has access to every area of my life! Hair included

You are My friends if you do what I command you. John 15:14

Every time that I ignored a “prompting” or disregarded it because of insecurity, fear or laziness I ended in the “ditch” or in distress, missing something or making mistakes! I always regret it terribly when I was dull to Yah’s promptings!

I noticed that people ignore His whispers when it is “importune” (would “mess” our plans altogether) or when it seemed like a trifle or non-important. But when the Holy Spirit impresses us to do or say something it is never “trivial”. It is always IMPORTANT and it always makes a huge difference!

. John 16:13  But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come

I remember many years ago I was leading a meeting in our home in the Mountains of Jerusalem. This was a prophetic meeting and I was training this particular group of believers to move in the Prophetic Gifts as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12. Everyone was encouraged to stir up their spirits by praying in the Spirit (in tongues see Jude 20) to build up their faith and to listen from the Holy Spirit. Then each one had to bless their appointed partner-brother or sister with a Prophetic Word. Everyone seemed to be flowing wonderfully! But then I saw a lady that was doing nothing. I asked her about this and she said to me: “I get nothing from the Lord to say!” I told her that I don’t believe it! For from my experience YHVH always is ready to speak something to His Creation! In fact He starts the whole Bible with “Elohim said….”

Then Elohim said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:3

And ever since, He is saying. He is always looking for a channel through whom He can speak. In fact one time there were no people and He had to use a donkey!

And YHVH opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” Numbers 22:28

I told the sister, you surely have one word in your spirit? She said: “But it is nothing it does not mean anything!” I said: “GO ahead and give it!” she looked at her partner in this Prophetic Exercise and said “POPCORN!” Well the moment her partner heard the word “popcorn” she broke out weeping! You see the Holy Spirit immediately gave her revelation that her gifts and dreams had been dry like popcorn but soon with hot oil (anointing!) of the Holy Spirit – they will break open and will come to fruition! The word “popcorn” triggered in her this powerful and encouraging revelation! In fact this sister is now with Yeshua in Heaven and she is probably smiling from the Cloud of Witnesses for this one, seemingly insignificant word “popcorn” in a seemingly non important meeting in the Mountains of Jerusalem accompanied for many years to come and encouraged her in her earthly walk!

Never, never disregard ANY word, small or big that the Holy Spirit impresses upon you.
But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word. Isaiah 66:2b

Of course there are other times when the words spoken by the Spirit may make tremendous demands on your life! Such was the instruction that I received from the Holy Spirit at the start of my walk with Him. I was a few months old in the faith and the Ruach sent me to the UK. When I was there and staying with some precious pastors YHVH visited me and changed the course of my life and the life of many thousands forever! I was still very wounded from the ravages of sin and personal family tragedy! My two beautiful children of the tender age of 18 months and 5 were not in my custody after a painful divorce. My heart was broken for my children and yet I could not have them. While in the UK I worked as a nanny and was great at it as I gave to the other people’s children what I would have given to mine that were far away from me in Israel! The time in the UK was a time of deep discipleship and personal restoration. Our wise Elohim knew exactly what I needed! Then one day He surprised me with a most uncommon demand.

I was listening to a tape by a very well- known Bible Teacher and lover of Israel by the name of Derek Prince. He was preaching about Apostolic Ministry and being “sent out”. Then He gave an altar call asking who was willing to be “Sent Out” and to “Go” for the Kingdom. My heart was making flip-flops! I had been thinking lately that I would like to go to Bible School and to serve Yeshua full time but it did not look possible! It was a dream that I forced myself to die to. Then when this preacher gave the altar call I wanted to jump and say: HINENI! (Here I am) like Isaiah. I felt the Spirit pressing me to stand, but my thoughts were arguing “How can I answer such a Call, and what does it all mean? Will I ever be able to see my children if I am “sent out”? So for the sake of some sort of motherhood (even if a visiting mother at this point), I decided to deny the promptings of the Spirit and not to stand up before the Tape Recorder and the teaching tape! I stayed seated! However I felt like I was going to die! I was grief stricken! I had grieved the Holy Spirit!

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

I realized that I had sinned and begged Him to forgive me for putting motherhood and my children above Him and His High Calling! I begged Him to give me a second chance! I rewound the tape and listened to the altar call again! This time I jumped promptly to my feet and said “HINENI”, I will GO, I will be sent out! Indeed Apostolic Ministry has demanded everything from me and very often I could not see my children for long periods of time. One time for over three years! The price was high and it still is but Yeshua is really all that matters! At the end of the day it is only that obedience born of intimacy with Him that really bears fruit! Many thousands have been and are being touched daily all over the world since I said YES to the Spirit concerning Apostolic Ministry! Many have been saved, healed, delivered and discipled and they in turn are blessing others!

Whenever the Holy Spirit tells us to do something for the King against all odds it will bear Eternal Fruit! Sometimes you will only know much later or in Heaven how effective your service to Yeshua was but never doubt its effectiveness and importance!

What originates with Him, always succeeds if we are faithful to keep walking in intimacy and obeying His promptings for a lifetime!

He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over thenations. Revelation 2:26

About a month earlier than my UK experience, on the other side of the globe, in Israel, the conference took place in Jerusalem where Derek Prince preached this message that was challenging me! A handsome man by the name of Baruch Bierman in attendance prompted by the same Holy Spirit answered the Call to be sent out to the nations! About a year later Rabbi Baruch and I were married having answered the exact same Call with the exact same message and preacher without knowing about each other! Yah does all things PERFECTLY!

For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

It is never too late to start! Even the “smallest” of Calls makes a GREAT difference! Not everyone is called as an Apostle or to be a leader in a ministry. Some are called to SUPORT a Ministry or a Minister. But every gift and call that originates from YHVH is urgently needed to advance His Kingdom! He gave me a second chance to answer His Call! Maybe you need one too? If so go before Him today and ask Him to forgive you for considering your plans, circumstances, needs or loved ones above His Call and for giving Him excuses. Then go ahead and present yourself before Him.

Answer the Call and keep on answering as you obey even the lightest promptings of the Holy Spirit! Your life and the world will never be the same after you DO!

Turning Jcobs Trouble Into Blessing

Recently I was confronted with a Messianic Jewish believer teaching a doctrine of destruction and judgment based around Jeremiah 30:7 known as Jacobs’s trouble.  He taught that soon the people of Israel are going to be destroyed down to only a handful or remnant.  It seems to me that his teaching was based on Scofields dispensational doctrine, which takes portions of the written word but largely ignores the Character and nature of YHVH.

It’s not just an error in Messianic/Christian belief, but also in extreme branches of Orthodox Judaism. In Israel in 2011 while in the wilderness of Zin in the Negev, I came across a group of Orthodox Jews from the USA who were praying “Against” the land of Israel. In their belief system YHVH would not set up a “land” of Israel until Messiah had come. So they felt it was their role to pray for the dismantling of the secular state of Israel. How could all these people not see the miracle of the regathered land of Israel?

How is it possible, that in the light of the miracle of the restoration of Israel happening in our times before our very eyes, that this sort of teaching even exists?  The key to unlocking the truth of scripture is not understood by some, because the heart of YHVH is not understood.

YHVH is not bound by our interpretation of his word, but he is bound by his own character and nature and this and this alone must be used in understanding scripture. Otherwise we will form strange man made doctrines. Under this thinking it could be said that the doctrines held by Mormons or Jehovah witness folk are true because they use the word of God to justify a faulty belief system. We know that these extremes are not YHVHs heart, and we mustn’t use the same form of interpretation to form our own faulty doctrines

Ezk36:22-30; makes it clear that YHVH is restoring Israel for his own names sake.  He also states I am going to clean you and deliver you from all your sins and idols, Then he says I am going to put my spirit in you and change your hearts. This is the heart of YHVH.  it is all HIS work and there is nothing of mans work in there at all. Romans 11 makes it clear that Jews have paid an enormous price so that the Gentiles can partake of salvation, but Paul goes on in Romans 11 to say that it is YHVH that will restore the Jews to their rightful place, I like to call this restoration “Resurrection glory” or as Paul puts it “Life from the dead”

THE SHOAH AS JACOB’S TROUBLE

Anne Frank the famous Jewish Shoah victim, who died in Auschwitz after being hidden in Holland for most of the war. In 1944 wrote: Who has afflicted us? Who has made us Jews different to all other people? Who has allowed us to suffer so terribly up till now? it is G_d that has made us as we are, but it will be G_d, too, who will raise us up again. If we bear all this suffering and if there still be Jews left, when it is all over, the Jews, instead of being doomed will be held up as an example.

Anne Frank perhaps without realizing it, was actually echoing the words of Hosea 6:1-2: Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

Although this scripture is most often quoted as relating to the resurrection of Yeshua, as is common with Hebrew prophecy it has a dual meaning. An examination of the text makes it clear I think. The terms “he has torn US” and “he will heal US” is plural rather than being recorded in the singular. I suggest that this represents the days of Israel since or just before Messiah Yeshua was born.

The short lived independent nation of Israel won by Judas Maccabee or in the Hebrew Y’hudhah Ha Makabi ended with the Roman invasion 150 odd years before Yeshua’s birth. 2000 years (or two days) later the restoration of Israel started with Theodore Hertzls first Zionist congress in 1897, Israel has been miraculously resurrected and now we are in the third day of both Israel and Judah. Gentiles are grafted into Israel therefore we share her joy, and Judah is restored again to the land and soon as one new man in Messiah Jew & Gentile, Israel & Judah will rejoice to see their king.

The Rabbis during and around the second world war saw the sufferings they were experiencing as a sign that “The Age of redemption” was approaching, that is the coming (or for followers of Yeshua the return of Messiah) Rabbi Levin of Warsaw, actually recorded much of the suffering as a record; he described the birth pains of Jacobs trouble as “the pains before the coming of Messiah”

Jacobs trouble is fairly easy to see in the Shoah. Any one who doubts this MUST spend a whole day reflecting at Yad Vashem Shoah memorial.

There is a time of trouble coming for the nations called the great tribulation which will of course affect Israel but this is not the time of Jacob’s trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 actually says He (Jacob) will be saved out of it.

No one can doubt that the restoration of the land of Israel is indeed the result of the birth pains of Jacob’s trouble, and the good news is that Abba says Jacob will be saved out of it. This is YHVH’s heart.

The Jewish population has not yet recovered from the day of Jacobs trouble, in 1939 there were 16,728,000 Jews; today 74 years later, The Jewish population is still only 13,085,000, however Zechariah says as a promise, “I will call for them (as a Shepherd calls his sheep) and gather them in. THEN I will redeem them and they will be as numerous as before” (Zec 10:8)

I spoke to a young British Jewish girl who didn’t want to make Aliyah because she still carried Jacob’s trouble in her heart, she felt as a Jew she was safer outside of Israel rather than all being in one place.

But is G_d rounding up the Jews so he can destroy them?.. NO NO NO!!!  He is rounding them up so he can show forth his glory in them and show them tender mercy and great loving kindness and lead them to see Messiah. The Gentiles role in all of this is to show forth the resurrection power and glory of Yeshua to such an extent that our Jewish brothers will become jealous and return. No amount of theological nonsense from the Gentiles or mis-informed Jews is going to touch the hearts of Israel.  Martin Luther made the same mistake in his word based message, which became hatred towards the Jews and ultimately led to the Shoah. Only a demonstration of the resurrection glory of Messiah will turn Jewish hearts toward Messiah.

Many teachers understanding of the Character and nature of G_d is not redemptive, rather it is restrictive and religious, the very things that made Yeshua angry. Moses was able to turn YHVH’s heart regarding the sons of Jacob when he was going to destroy them. That’s the redemptive nature of G_d. ” He is Willing that none should perish”. This is the heart of YHVH.

Psalm 102:16 says “For I will rebuild Zion and appear as its glory“. The Hebrew context here (means end or last) indicates that this promise is given for the end generation. Joel refers to the end thus: Joel 3:1 ‘In those days and at that time I will restore the fortunes of JUDAH and Jerusalem.’ There is no mention of being destroyed, the constant theme is restored. Restoration is the heart of YHVH.

Amos 9:15 says

“I will again plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them says the LORD your G_d”

Abba’s heart is to restore Israel into the glory of her Messiah and we must remember that the G_d of Israel is a supernatural G_d who lives in a supernatural place and does supernatural things.

My personal experience in talking to secular Jews in Israel and in New Zealand is that they are not interested in religious words, but they do respond to the power of the Spirit of YHVH. Many friends in Israel who love and know messiah had their encounters not through words but through the action and workings of Ruach ha Kodesh.

It is now time to see Jacob’s trouble turned into Jacobs redemption, this is the heart of YHVH and we need to say as Ezekiel said when YHVH asks us “Can these bones live?” He said “You know Lord” by saying Lord you know, that was a smart answer from Ezekiel and it would be smart of us too to yield to His heart for Israel’s redemption. As it says in Acts 3:20-21; Messiah will remain in heaven until the restoration of all things, as Bishop Bierman puts it, The restoration of all things is, the Gentiles back to their Jewish roots and the Jews back to their land and their Messiah.

The teaching that says God is rounding up the Jews to destroy all but a remnant is designed by the enemy to stop Jacob returning to the land out of fear. Abbas heart is fear not for I am with you. Jacobs trouble will become Jacobs blessing.
