This week in Korea, US President Barak Obama emphasized that the window was
closing for a diplomatic resolution to the standoff over Iran’s nuclear program
and its threat toward Israel.
President Obama made a brief stop at the demilitarized zone between North
and South Korea the day before the Nuclear Security Summit.
“Time is short,” President Obama said, adding, “Iran must act with the
seriousness and sense of urgency that this moment demands.”
Obama made the comment during a speech at Hankuk University in Seoul, South
Korea before the start of the second biennial Nuclear Security Summit.
This may just sound like just “news,” but for us, the ministry staff of Bibles
For Israel, our families, and the rest of the people in Israel, it’s what we
go to bed with, and wake up with. Every day we fear hearing that war
We also have an estimated 200,000 missiles pointed at us from Lebanon, Syria,
and Gaza that can with can easily be equipped with warheads containing
chemical and biological warheads, such as mustard gas.
Every Israeli citizen has been advised to be prepared to use their gas mask,
however most Israelis know that these gas masks will render useless amidst the
effects of the chemicals which will eat away at the body.
A drill simulating a nuclear, biological and chemical attack on central Israel
was successfully held by IDF Home Front Command soldiers last November.
Facing a complex scenario, soldiers evacuated “injured” civilians and
escorted them to a military field hospital.
At the close of the summit, the leaders of the 53 nations present called for
- Steps to minimize civilian use of highly enriched uranium (HEU);
- Safeguarding world stockpiles of HEU and plutonium; and
- Tightened security of radioactive material that could be used to make
In their joint declaration, they said, “Nuclear terrorism continues to be one
of the most challenging threats to international security,” while calling for
“strong international measures and international cooperation.”
“There are still too many bad actors in search of these dangerous materials and
these dangerous materials are still vulnerable in too many places. It would
not take much, just a handful or so of these materials, to kill hundreds of
thousands of innocent people,” President Obama said.
Those innocents include Israelis who are in the sightlines of Iran.
A recent poll published by Ha’aretz showed that nearly 65 percent of Jewish
Israelis believe that attacking Iran to stop its nuclear program would be
better than trying to live with a nuclear armed Islamic Republic.
About 60 percent agreed that only military action could stop Iran’s nuclear
program, and 63 percent believed that Israel will suffer equally whether Israel
attacks Iran or the United States does.

Israel: The Growing Reach of Enemy Missiles
In Israel, police and the IDF Home Front Command are feverishly making
preparations for the possibility of rocket attacks against the central region
in the event of fresh hostilities.
“We assume that in the next round, some rockets will fall in central
Israel,” Commander Bentsi Sao, head of the central district, told The Jerusalem Post.
Meanwhile, in a video on Gaza’s Islamic Jihad website, a terrorist operative
boasted that they had delivered on their promise to expand the range of
“We hit [the cities and towns of] Ashdod, Ofakim, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat
Malachi,” he said, adding, “The enemy knows that the al-Quds Brigades [of
Islamic Jihad] is capable of making good on its promises.”
Security forces and first responders in the center of the country, where the
vast majority of Israel’s population and economy is located, have had much less
training and practice in responding to rockets than their colleagues in the
south and north of the country. They are now rushing to catch up.

Global March to Jerusalem: Latest Bid to Delegitimize Israel
“The Daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a
field of melons, like a city under siege.” (Isaiah 1:8)
Tomorrow (Friday, March 30), the latest effort to delegitimize Israel will take
place called the “Global March to Jerusalem” (GMJ).
Thousands of misinformed, anti-Israel activists from around the world will
march on Israel’s borders to mark the 36th anniversary of the 1976 Land Day
protests that ended violently when several Israeli-Arabs were killed by police.
The organizers state on the group’s website, “Our aim is to end the Zionist
policies of apartheid, ethnic cleansing and Judaization, which all harm the
people, land and sanctity of Jerusalem.
“The GMJ is comprised of a diverse coalition of Palestinian, Arab and
international activists who are united in the struggle to liberate the holy
city of Jerusalem (the city of peace) from illegal Zionist occupation.”

Isaac and their descendants – the Jewish People.
Protests are also planned in front of Israeli embassies in several cities
around the world.
According to the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center
(ITIC), Iran is the primary force behind the initiative.
Events of this sort have become a regular feature of life in Israel, as the
political, ethical, legal and theological foundations of the State increasingly
come under strident attack from almost every direction and on every level.
Toulouse Widow Sends Message of Encouragement to Families
Last week, a terrorist drove his motorcycle to the entrance of the Otzar
Hatorah Jewish school in Toulouse, France and opened fire.
Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, 30, a Jewish studies teacher at Otzar Hatorah, and his
sons, three year-old Arieh and six year-old Gavriel, died in the attack.
Eight year-old, Miriam Monstango, the principal’s daughter was shot in the head
at close range when the gunman chased her into the school and grabbed her by
French police determined that the same weapon used in the Otzar Hatorah attack
was involved in two other shooting attacks against French soldiers.

Eva Sandler, Rabbi Jonathan’s widow, told media on Sunday that the Jewish
community in Toulouse never imagined such a terror attack was possible, despite
problems with anti-Semitism.
France, which has one of the largest Jewish populations in Europe, had 389
reported acts of anti-Semitism in 2011, according to Representative Council of
Jewish Institutions in France, known in French as CRIF.
Former Counter terrorism Bureau chief Nitzan Nuriel told The Jerusalem Post
that many places in Europe and around the world were becoming unsafe for Jews,
who faced attacks by anti-Semitic forces of various stripes.
“It makes no difference for the terrorist if the target is a representative of
the Jewish Agency, an Israeli tourist or a local Jew,” he stated.
In an open letter to the Jewish community on the Chabad website, Eva
Sandler encouraged parents to focus on their children.
“Parents, please kiss your children,” she said. “Tell them how much you love
them, and how dear it is to your heart that they be living examples of our
Torah, imbued with the fear of Heaven and with love of their fellow man.”

Days after the shooting, the police tracked down the terrorist, and a 30-hour
standoff ensued with a 23-year-old French citizen of Algerian “Islamic” origin
named Mohamed Merah.
Merah reportedly said he wanted to avenge the killing of Palestinian children
by Israeli soldiers, and punish the French military presence in Afghanistan.
He also said that his only regret was that he hadn’t killed more people.
Merah refused to surrender, and died when he jumped out a window still firing
his weapon. Police commandos killed him with a single shot to the head.
At a court hearing in Paris, his brother Abdelkader said that he’d known
nothing about his brother’s plans and certainly hadn’t assisted in them, but
was “proud” of his brother for the murders he committed.

Rumors of Wars and Present Day Reality
“On that day men will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. Each man will
seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other.” (Zechariah 14: 13)
The world truly is in the midst of this crisis. Even a quick glance of the
news reveals many conflicts between “kingdoms” such as India and Pakistan, Iran
and its neighbors (in all directions), etc.
“When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must
happen, but the end is still to come. For nation will rise up against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom.” (Mark 13:6-8)
In the Arab Middle East, however, a person’s primary identity comes from tribe,
family and religious faction, and not from the country listed on an identity card.
This is becoming painfully apparent in places like Lebanon, Yemen, Libya,
Bahrain and Syria, where strife, violence and war are increasing between
tribes, factions and extended clans.
We are truly entering into a season when “every man’s hand will be against his
neighbor.” (Zechariah 14: 13)
The resulting confusion, chaos and turmoil, much of it very close to Israel’s
borders (to say nothing of the conflict between different Palestinian factions
within Israel) can’t help but impact the Jewish people who live here.

Lloyd’s of London Insurance Company Figures: End-Time Sign
Yesterday, Lloyd’s of London, which is the leader in the global insurance
industry, reported that 2011 was their second-costliest year due to natural
In terms of devastation from natural disasters, last year was the worst year in
the company’s 324-year history, with natural disaster claims totaling
approximately 7.5 billion U.S. dollars.
Total claims for the global insurance industry for natural disasters was $170
billion dollars, which is more than the GDP of two thirds of the world’s economies.
Inside Lloyd’s of London
Lloyd’s of London said the natural disaster claims arose from a series of major
catastrophes including the Australian floods, earthquakes in New Zealand, the
Japanese earthquake and tsunami, floods in Thailand, and tornadoes in
the United States.
Among the end-time signs stated Mark 13: 5-8 are earthquakes and famines:
“Yeshua said to them: …There will be earthquakes in various places, and
famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”
Approximately 35 earthquakes per day are recorded by seismograph stations
around the world.
According to the most recent figures provided by the United Nations Food and
Agriculture Organization, 925 million people were undernourished in 2010, and
millions are threatened with starvation in Africa and Asia as we speak.

End Time Signs and Prophecies
Today, amidst all this chaos, the threat of nuclear terrorism is greater
than ever. Certainly President Obama is correct in saying that
“Time is short!”
Bible prophecy in Ezekiel states that the nations will come against Israel in
the End Times, and it seems that the rising anger against Israel is soon going
to culminate with the surrounding nations attacking our tiny country.
Our generation, Bjoern, is living in the End Times. Only a little over
60 years ago, Israel became a nation again!
For 2000 years Israel did not exist, so up until our generation, Bible
prophecy and the End Times could not have been fulfilled as Israel did not
exist as a nation.
Unfortunately, the People of Book, who brought the Scriptures and the Messiah
to this world, who have gone through thousands of years of persecutions,
including the Holocaust, now have to endure a new threat on their
doorstep—nuclear terrorism—simply because they are God’s Chosen People.
“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples
reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:2)
In the midst of all this bad news, there is good news: in the end times, the
Gospel will be preached to the ends of the earth.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a
testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)
Bjoern, You can make a difference during these Last Days and for Eternity!
Help us reach Jewish people with the Good News of Yeshua in these End-Times.
