Subject: Bjoern, Today’s Urgent Jerusalem Prayer Alert as the Palestinian Authority pushes for recognition in United Nations
Shalom from Jerusalem Bjoern,
Palestinian Authority (PA) officials are not giving up their effort to bypass
negotiations with Israel to attain recognition of their Arab Muslim statehood
in the Holy Land (Israel).
Protesters carry banners supporting Palestinian statehood during a
protest in the West Bank.
The PA’s bid for statehood via the United Nations Security Council has
effectively been put on hold as of Friday, so they are now shifting their efforts
to the General Assembly where they will pursue status as an observer nation.
The Palestinians have but one objective – to take over the Jewish homeland.
One PA official told The Jerusalem Post, “Our plan now is to take the
battle to the UN General Assembly, where we are certain to score victory.
This will allow us access to many important UN agencies and organizations,
including the International Criminal Court.”
The General Assembly is almost always a sure thing for the Palestinians.
That is where they have an automatic majority thanks to the “non-aligned
movement” and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which always
vote as a block in favor of anything the Palestinians ask for and/or anything
that is harmful to Israel.
Observer status, which is already enjoyed by the Vatican, would give the
PA de facto international recognition as a sovereign state, while not
guaranteeing the PA full-state rights in other international forums.
The United Nations Security council comprises five permanent members
–the United States, China, the Russia, France and the United
Kingdom–and ten non-permanent members, elected by the General
Assembly for two-year terms. Decisions on substantive matters require
nine votes, including the concurring votes of all five permanent members.
UNESCO’s Defiant Move
Recently, in the middle of the deliberations for Palestinian Statehood, the
UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted
to elevate “Palestine” to full membership status, in a blatant violation
of the program’s own rules, since “Palestine” is not a state which is
recognized by the UN.
In addition to this, testimony has been offered that “Palestine” has no
meaningful contribution to make to UNESCO and that it would in
fact be harmful.
The fact that the PA approved school textbooks used by Palestinian school
children contain vicious anti-Semitism designed to indoctrinate them to
hate Israel and Jews guarantees that there will never be peace.
Israel’s flag still waves freely at the the Western (Wailing) Wall. If
Palestinians have their way, it will no longer freely wave at the Western
Wall below the Temple Mount, in what the Palestinian’s term
“occupied Jerusalem”, or anywhere in Israel for the matter.
Just One Vote Needed to Create the
Islamic Palestinian State in the Jewish Holy Land
Comments by diplomats, both official and unofficial, indicate that eight of the
United Nations Security Council’s fifteen members are inclined to support the
PA bid for full membership, which means the Palestinian Authority is still one
vote shy of the nine it needs to force an American veto.
In recent days, France and the UK have joined the ranks of states saying
they will abstain on the vote, along with Columbia, Portugal and Bosnia.
Just days after France said it would abstain, Foreign Secretary William Hague
told British Parliament: “In common with France and in consultation with our
European partners, the United Kingdom will abstain on any vote on full
Palestinian membership of the UN.”
He also added, however, “We reserve the right to recognise a Palestinian
state bilaterally at a moment of our choosing and when it can best help bring
Russian postage stamp with Palestinian and their flag
Russia and China, which in recent months have used their veto power on the
Security Council to foil a UNSC resolution condemning the regime of Syrian
president Bashar Assad, whose security forces have killed over 3,500 civilians
in the ongoing violence in that country, have argued and lobbied strongly on
behalf of the Palestinian bid.
Along with the nations of the world coming against Israel, it was only three
weeks ago that the Vatican called for the establishment of a One World Global
Authority to regulate financial markets and governments. These are warning
signs that we are in the Last Days.
Do not stop praying, for the battle is only just beginning at the UN, and the
enemies of God’s plan for Israel will not stop attacking.
Solitary man praying at the Western (Wailing) Wall in Jerusalem. Let
your prayers arise before the Throne of God on behalf of Israel and your
support be heard and felt in Israel and around the world.
“I will bless those who bless Israel” (Genesis 12:3)
